Senior Valuation Specialist

We are offering an experienced valuation specialist the chance to autonomously drive your own projects whilst fitting them into your own schedule. If you are self-motivated and would like some flexibility in your day or week, we are open to designing a role that works for both of us.

You will be responsible for executing and/or managing business and intangible asset valuation engagements and delivering high-quality valuation and expert witness reports. You will also assist in building Hewlett + Murray’s financial reporting and tax valuation service line. As an early member of the team, you will have a unique opportunity to grow into a leadership position.

You will have the opportunity to:

What you will do:

  • Lead or contribute to valuation engagements across business, equity, IP and other intangible assets

  • Conduct financial and industry analysis to assess value and support engagement findings

  • Build and review valuation models, including DCF, comparable transactions, and other accepted techniques

  • Prepare clear, defensible valuation reports and expert evidence

  • Interpret and present complex quantitative and qualitative data clearly and concisely

  • Maintain and improve internal models, templates and valuation tools

  • Support internal quality assurance and data validation processes

  • Build and maintain trusted relationships with clients

  • Mentor and support junior team members.

What you will need:

  • At least 4 years’ experience in valuation, ideally in professional services or a specialist valuation firm

  • Deep experience with purchase price allocations and impairment testing

  • Exposure to dispute or litigation contexts (preferred but not essential)

  • A degree in finance, economics, accounting, engineering, or a related quantitative field

  • CA/CPA or CFA designation (or progress toward one) preferred

  • Strong analytical, communication and report-writing capabilities

  • Advanced Excel skills and proficiency across the Microsoft Office suite

  • The ability to work independently and take initiative, while also seeking input when needed

  • A commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
